Will a wash with a power washer remove the wax?

Depends on what soaps or solvents are being used with the power washer. Generally, they will remove SOME of the wax or protective coatings used on your car, so it's a good idea to wax the car every four to six months to keep it looking the best. Will a wash with a power washer remove the wax?
No it won't but if you want to remove the wax theres a product out there that will do it for you.

Hope that helps and best of luckWill a wash with a power washer remove the wax?
If you want to remove the wax, you need a chemical wash to remove the wax. Washing with soap and water will not do it.
It's the SOAP that will remove the wax . Don't use laundry detergent or dish soap. Car wash soap is available at the store, and is safe. Also at the car wash they use safe soap .
with the hot water and detergent, it will disapate it every time. however with al newer automotive paints, the clearcoat is a poly finish. wax is intended for older enaml base paints to remove the oxcidation of the paint. on newer vehicle, polish is the only thing to actualy use, to remove uv layer and stuck grime. use the polish that you apply in a wax form. this will also keep the cirlce scratch effect out of the suface, that happens while usung wax. wax has a pumas ingredient.
depends on witch power washer, if its the portable ones that have small gas engines then yes it will remove wax and the paint. if its at the local car wash dont worry about it there made for car washing and arent to strong, unless your paint is already peeling.
negative, if you waxed it a few days prior to waxing it should not

come off at all ! thats why they say you only need to wax your car 2 times a year because the wax hardens and makes a shell over your clearcoat paint so when you do wax the car the pressure washer will only remove the dirt that builds on top of the waxed surface.

In other words, I have no idea what you are talking about. I can't add cheese to macaroni.

If i apply wax everyday must i wash my hair with shampoo everyday?

You don't have to use shampoo, but you should rinse the wax out of your hair.

Why does the paint on the roof of my car feel rougher than the rest of the car even after wash and wax?

im assuming the paint is probably oxidized

or, could possibly the contaniments that are stuck to your paint

if you wanna fix it, heres what you do

clay your car first- after you wash your car

    (meguiars clay kit)

this removes all the crap thats stuck onto the paint, that normal washing wont get off, do it all over your car

and if its still rough, then the paint is probably oxidized

pick up some meguiars ultimate compound, and swirlx

and a long with microfiber towels+applicator pads

try using the swirlx first, its less aggressive, work it into a 16x16 in section, for 30-60 seconds, wipe off, inspect

    if still bad, repeat

if its still bad after that, try using ultimate compound, same thing

then after you get it good, use the swirlx after that, it can take a while, especially if doing your whole car with that

then wax car again, cause the claying/swirlx will remove all the wax you put on there

and waxing doesnt make your paint smooth, waxing only puts a coat of wax on your car, doesnt remove anything

    any more questions, email

again, its hard to say weather you just need a clay bar, or the paint is oxidized, wihtout seeing it or a pic

but im assuming its oxidized, cause the roof/trunk/hood are the most common places for it cause its where the sun hits itWhy does the paint on the roof of my car feel rougher than the rest of the car even after wash and wax?
The three main areas, that get the worst, of the paint problems, are the roof, hood, and, the trunk lid. The sun, hits these three spots, like with twice the heat, oxidizing the car's paint finish, to a very dull appearence. There are, many products, out there, claiming, to be able to remove the dull, dead paint, and, leaving behined, a luster, and, a shine. But, not all these products, do, exactly, what they say they will. If you are really serious, about detailing your car, go to your local automotive shop, and, ask them, what the best coarse of action, would be, to take. Cause, you can, actually ruin your car's paint finish, if things don't go right. Pushing too hard, with the power buffer, can actually remove the paint, from the car. So, ask the pros... They can give you, some solid advice, as to what you should do.

For my kitten,it is just a small spot of dry wax, can i just wash it with warm water?

Dry ear wax? Yeah- it should be fine to wash it off with warm water. For my kitten,it is just a small spot of dry wax, can i just wash it with warm water?
I don't know u mean by wax? do u mean dried out crusty spot?

if so, I would put a spot of vaseline on a few times a day it won't

harm kitty good luck PS Ihave many catsFor my kitten,it is just a small spot of dry wax, can i just wash it with warm water?
Dip a Cue-tip in some olive oil and ever-so gently and carefully swab the inside of the ear. Works on humans too.
use a dish cloth and it should be fine but dont do it hard on the anmial
Just wash it with a warm, damp washcloth, Kitties love that. Rub the washcloth on the entire cat. It freshens them. My cat LOVES it.
Not sure if you were just asking about ears, but if it is at the corners of the eyes and has hardened, I find that a quick pick with my fingers nails (VERY gently of course) is faster and easier than using some kind of tool. If you moisten it, it can actually be more difficult to remove. Same with dried nasal secretions. Just pick 'em off!

How often do you wash / wax your car?

you can wash it, use plain water and a chamois and make sure that you are gentle. Do not wax it for 4-6 weeks.I just had my car painted. Can I wash and wax it right away?
Exactly, wait a month, if it has a fresh paint then it doesn't need the protection, you have to wait for the clear coat to finish settling. Wax has qualities of rubbing compound and it will ';fudge up'; the clear coat.I just had my car painted. Can I wash and wax it right away?
    NO!

Wait 30 days or you will rub out your clear coat. The same goes for new cars, you should always wait 30 days to let the clear coat settle.

What's the best way to wash the car with out leaving any scrach marks? and How to wax a car?

I detail cars for shows. To wash a car, you need clean terry wash mitts (2), a clean drying towel (microfiber waffle weave towels are the best, cotton terry towels leave minute scratches), 2 buckets of water and car wash soap (leave the dish soap in the kitchen). One bucket is for the soap and the other is for rinsing the mitt. Read this for how to wash:

    http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-wash.鈥?/a>

There are as many different ways of applying wax as there are waxes but these are good practice:

    -always wash before waxing

-always wax in the shade and the paint is not hot, you can wax when the sun is low if you don't have shade

-use straight strokes using light pressure and following the direction of airflow over the car

-use microfiber towels to wipe wax off, a quick detail spray helps get hard to remove wax off and adds gloss

    Read this:

http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-wax.h鈥?/a>What's the best way to wash the car with out leaving any scrach marks? and How to wax a car?
As far as washing the car, I would use a good quality auto soap. I've been using the Mr. Clean Auto Dry and I think it's great. If you don't use this, then make sure you get a good quality automobile soap and a lamb's wool mitt. Start by rinsing the car off well with water to get any excess dirt off. Then put some soap in a bucket and fill with water. Soak the mitt and start washing from the roof down. Rinse the mitt ever so often to get rid of any dirt/grime that might cause scratches. Rinse well and dry using a clean soft terry cloth towel.

For the waxing, I like using a wax like Meguiars for clear coat finishes. Use the foam pad provided and make sure it's slightly damp before you start. Park the car in the shade. Never wax in the sun. I usually start at the roof and work my way down from there. Do one section at a time (usually 2ft x 2ft). Apply the wax in a circular motion. Make sure you overlap your previous strokes as you apply. Once the wax dries to a dull haze, remove with a very soft cloth or a bunched up cheese cloth. If the finish is fairly dull (and you know it's a clean coat), get a can of DuPont polish for clear coats and apply this before you put on a coat of wax. Apply this with a damp cloth in a STRAIGHT LINE. Do not apply this in a circular motion! Applying this in a circular motion will create those 'swirl' marks everyone is familiar with. If applied in a straight line, the mark are less visible because of the way you look at the car. Straight lines are less visible than circular ones. Once it dries, remove with a terry cloth towel in a straight line.

After applying and removing the wax finish coat, light spray the car with a cool mist from the hose and dry. The water will help set the wax. What's the best way to wash the car with out leaving any scrach marks? and How to wax a car?
What Louis G posted is great info.

On the washing end, all I will add is that the new AutoDRY system by Mr Clean works very nicely. And it eliminates the drying step which lowers the chances of hairline scratches.

Keep your washing mitt/towel clean and wet, soak your surface well, and don't push down, just pull along the surface. It will look great.
    Two words.. Micro fiber.

Go to an auto parts store and pick up a bunch of microfiber towels and some good soap and a quality wax. Don't use regular detergent, like dish soap or laundry detergent. These will strip the oils from your paint and make the finish dull. Use a real car wash soap.

I personally like Meguires products but there are other good products out there like Eagle one's Nano wax for example.

Pick up a good quality wax like Meguires NXT wax or high tech yellow wax. remember to always use a good foam pad to apply the wax, and only do one small section at a time. IE do the hood first then buff the wax off, then move on to the next section. Use fresh dry microfiber towels to buff the wax off.

If you want you can finish it off with a detailing spray for a really nice clean shiney look.
washing shouldnt leave scratch marks, unless theres dirt of gravel in the wash cloth or mitton.just make sure you got something good to wash with and a mild detergent.something like car wash, you find in a bottle at auto zone.
Hmm, i dont know what your using to cause scratch marks... You should be using a soft sponge...

If you have a black car, and your talking about the noticeable ';o'; rings.... thats a black-car thing.. and isnt really a scratch (might be with all dark cars though...)

As for waxing.. im no expert... but normally you rub the wax onto the car.... let it sit for a while.... then rub it off... Just read the instructions on the bottle/can

Can u use nano spray wax everytime u wash ur car?

i have a 1999 audi a6 quattro and after i wash and dry my car i always use nano spray wax is this ok or can it hurt the paint? Can u use nano spray wax everytime u wash ur car?
You should use a spray detailer instead of waxing so often.

Even a spray wax can build up. Wax your car once a month.

It goes on last. When pressure washing your car at the car wash, does the wax spray go last or do you rinse it off?
Pressure washing and automated car washes in general are not good for your car's finish. Hand washing and detailing are the way to go.

well i've been trying to get these damned snakes out of my head for 3,000 years!
Use Dawn Dishwashing liquid, the use a great conditioner afterwards.
take about a tablespoon of baking soda and mix it with your normal shampoo amount that you would use to wash your hair anyway. The baking soda will neutralize any impurities in your hair. This especially works well with gel and hairspray too.
go to a beauty supply store and get a bottle of clarifying shampoo, it comes in many brands.. this is good enough to take vaseline out of the hair (long story). but yeah, it works great.
warm water and soap...try a dishsoap if normal soaps dont work and use a very fine comb to try to get it out...

    I hope this helps...
soak it in hot water for lil while

Do you really need to hand wax your car or is the car wash?

wax they spray enough?Do you really need to hand wax your car or is the car wash?
The spray wax at the car wash is useless. it does nothing but suck some coins from your pocket, same as the drying agents, degreaser, etc. it's all crap from that car washes. The brushes also ruin your paint... never use those either.

A hand wax is the best choice in this case, but it also needs to be applied every couple months, wax does break down. you could go with a sealant and get 6 months to 1 year out of it. but a wax is only good for 6 weeks usually.

What I would look at is the condition of the paint in the first place, are you just convering up scratches? or would you rather spend some time and actually remove the scratches? that is an entirely different question. It is worth looking into though, see what you can do to your car's finish.Do you really need to hand wax your car or is the car wash?
If you want to protect your finish, you should always hand wash your car AND hand wax.

The drive-thru is good to remove some of the surface dirt, but is painfully inadequate to remove any of the stubborn soil.

On top of that, you should consider putting 2-3 coats of a good quality wax on whenever you wax, and also consider using a clay bar or other contaminant removal system between the wash and wax to ensure you don't bed the contaminants into your paint with the wax.
For a really great finish, no, the spray wax isn't enough. It doesn't coat very well, and the real secret to a great looking shine isn't just the wax, it's the prep and the maintanence of the paint. There's a write up on the five step process for detailing the paint here: http://www.squidoo.com/showcardetailing
that wax at those car washes is,nt very good. that,s just a fast wax if your going someplace important and you want a shine. it,s best to use the kind you put on with your hands.
I think the ';spaywax'; just slides the money out of your pocket and that's all. Get some good wax and take your time hand waxing the car.
    Enough maybe

Is the new Turtle Wax Ice Car Wash ok to use on a motorcycle?

NOOOO!!!! useing a product called car wash on a motorcycle will make the motorcycle blow up right in your face the moment the product touches the motorcycle. If you have to use it though because thats all you have and you just cant be seen on a dirty motorcycle...heres what you do.

First: take the motorcycle completely apart...every nut and bolt. Dont forget to disassemble the carburators too.

Second: Wash only one part at the time with your left hand only. Do this facing east on a moonless night between the hours of midnight and 1 am.

    Third: If you start to feel heat around your left hand when the carwash touches the motorcycle pieces you must vigorously dance in counterclockwise circles while slapping your posterior and screaming,'; Spankerbaby!!!';

Fourth: If you DONT feel any heat with your left hand then continue untill the entire motorcycle has been throughly washed and rinsed... Rinsing must be done behind your back through a green garden hose with a brass nozzle only!!

Fifth: From this point it starts to get a little complicated so read carefully. The motorcycle must be reassembled while you wear a blindfold. However you MUST be the one doing the reassembly. Make sure you have plenty of light.

Sixth: Once the motorcycle has be put all back together, take it for a test ride. Dont forget your helmet but leave the blindfold on. Start the motorcycle and go through every gear with the throttle wide open. Once you have reached the motorcycles maximum speed, turn off the engine and let the motorcycle coast to a complete stop. When this is done you will have sucessfully cleaned a motorcycle with a car washing product, thus sticking it to the man! CongratsIs the new Turtle Wax Ice Car Wash ok to use on a motorcycle?

i dont see why no the pain is essentially the same just less of it on a motorcycle

How often should i wax and wash my new dreadlocks?

Dreads should be washed at least once a week, i personally wash mine 2-3 times a week. Wax is a hydrophobic substance which means it repels water and is never really absorbed into the hair it just sits on top collecting dirt, oil, lint, and possibly bugs.

It also just makes dreads look like candlesticks eventually no matter how little you use, and most people that use wax on their dreads are the ones that us clean dreadlock wearers kind of look down on a little because more often than not they have dirty unkept looking dreads which perpetuates many ignorant myths non dread heads sometimes believe and will use as proof that dreads are bad.

Dreads don't really need any products at all, but if you are really crazy about controlling frizz i suggest all natural purified aloe vera gel which can be purchased at health food stores, it is water based so it washes out easily with a good shampooing, just rub a small amount into the roots to help with maintenance, it also conditions locks without causing excessive build up or oily residue that could make locks come undone. How often should i wax and wash my new dreadlocks?
never... that what all the smelly hippies i use to be friends with did, just back-combed to get started and then never wash them. some of them have them half way down there backs now and haven't washed them in years. Not sure if that a good plan tho as and people often avoid them because they look smelly and horrible. also make it very hard to get a job. have fun dude! How often should i wax and wash my new dreadlocks?
You should never wax them because the wax will build up. You can wash them as often as you choose.
    lol wax?

I have a lace table cloth someone spilled candel wax on it. How do I get the wax out so that I can wash it?

Freeze it first, and scrape as much as you can, then using an iron on medium setting, put a towel underneath the cloth and wax paper on top. As you iron keep moving the tower, and the wax paper around. When the stain is almost gone pre- treat it with ';Shout'; or something similar. Scrub it by hand until the stain is gone, then wash as usual. Before putting in the dryer, check the stain again if still there repeat the process again, Good luck!!!I have a lace table cloth someone spilled candel wax on it. How do I get the wax out so that I can wash it?
Put a dish towel or a paper towel over it and with an iron on a medium setting, iron over the towel. That will cause the wax to melt and be absorbed by the towel. Then, you can pre-treat it with a good stain treater and launder as usual.I have a lace table cloth someone spilled candel wax on it. How do I get the wax out so that I can wash it?
place a clean towel beneath the stain and place a piece of wax paper on top; of the stain. Run a hot iron back and forth over the wax until it melts and is absorbewd in the towel. Scrape any remaining wax before placing in laundry.
Tip boiling hot water over it.
Rub the wax with an ice cube until the wax is cracking and frozen, pick it off, use oxy clean to lift the rest in the wash. Good luck!
Put ice on the wax until hard and then chip off with a butter knife and/or fingernails.
use some ice and peel it off
Place an old piece of cloth under it and place ice on top. This will make it brittle and easy to remove. If it is colored wax, there may be a dye effect still left. If it is white, use mild bleach when washing. If it is a colored cloth, try Oxy-clean or a non-bleach product.
    Gasoline.

    Blow the candle out first.
try to boil water then let it for 10mns.
Heat it up to melt it! It will come out pretty well then, I would think!
Freeze it; then scrape the wax off
I have been in Dry Cleaning for 28 years...just take it to your local dry cleaners, wax comes out with normal dry cleaning.
lay a paper towel ove the wax and use an iron on top of the paper towel to melt the wax. it will soak up into the paper towel. You will have to repeat these steps several times, but should get up all the wax.
I would place it on an ironing board with a padding of paper towels under it and paper towels over the stain and press, blotting up the wax. It might take several times. The grease spot may remain, but that can be dealt with. Good luck.
freeze the spot where the wax is ,when it get hard break the wax off the table cloth.
    try here http://www.chemistry.co.nz/stain_frame.h鈥?/a>
Freeze it with an ice cube and then pick it off. But it might be stained from the oil in the wax.
Put several paper towels on top and bottom of spot where wax is use a hot iron on the paper towel area the heat will melt the wax the paper towels will absorb the wax do until there is no more wax.

Trucks w/ bed liners and SUV's tend to add a premium of about 25.00 because of the larger size of the vehicle or the complexities of do the bed liner of a truck.

So doing an SUV by hand could be 18+70+25.

If they come to your home and office as a mobile service you can add another 40 to the bill. How much would you pay someone to detail your car(price) Truck/Suv (price) wash vacuum and wax???
25-35 dolars. A guy I know that has his own buisness charges 50 dollars.
    $15-$20
Wow! It would never occur to me to pay someone else to wash my car.
If it is a hand job look to pay about 45 dollars. it is better this way because the detailing is worth it. an around the way guy you can get away at about 25 dollars.
Depends on how reputable they are and what location you are in. I pay $20 now for a wash and vacuum so I would pay probably $50-75 for a wash, vacuum and wax if it was good work.

How long after i wax can i wash my face?

i just waxed my face.. when can i take a SHOWER? will my skin get irritated??How long after i wax can i wash my face?
If you use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil or Dove for sensitive skin, you can shower right away. Don't use anything abrasive like a wash cloth or scrub. Avoid toner until the next day or two. Don't take a super hot or long shower to avoid irritating your skin; it's a little sensitive after waxing.

I keep cortisone cream or Eucerin Healing Balm on hand if I need to sooth my skin.

I want to do a small detail on my car, full wash and claybar and wax....?

I was wondering if after I clay bar the car, do I have to polish it or can I just wax it? what will be the difference? thanks in advance.I want to do a small detail on my car, full wash and claybar and wax....?
Just do it in exactly that order. Wash it good, then use the clay with the spray detailer, then wax it. It'll look awesome and feel soooo smoooooooth. If you don't have the spray solution, you can also wash it then use the clay with the leftover soapy water and then rinse off with water before waxing. Just make sure you are out of the sun when you do it.

If you just wax after washing without the claybar, it won't have that glassy feeling when you run your hand over ir.

When you use the claybar, it leaves the surface super clean and free of any particles that stick to the car, making waxing a much more easier job.

Just don't drop the claybar, and don't use it everytime you wash the car. Keep a small ziplock sandwich bag handy so you can store the clay or if you have to put it down.I want to do a small detail on my car, full wash and claybar and wax....?
no difference, the claybar will do all of the work any way you go with that one.
you NEED to polish it if you wax it the clay get damaged
You are on the right track, wash it well, clay the surface to get rid of all the surface contamination and to get the paint glossy smooth, then follow with polish, polish feeds the paint and protects it, you can stop there, if you wish you can follow the polish with a wax, I dont use carnuba based waxes anymore I prefer polymer waxes, they last longer and dont build up and protect the paint better. My favorite is the Klasse all in one polish and the Klasse polymer glaze. You can get both over the internet.

Does anyone know if putting wax protect ants at a car wash on your windshield is a good idea?

I was told that some car washes have an extra protectant that is suppost to help protect against pebbles%26amp; etc. on the road but is also suppost to help repall pebbles that are thrown from tires %26amp; other debree does anyone know any thing about this , thank youDoes anyone know if putting wax protect ants at a car wash on your windshield is a good idea?
Once struck the gravel dents the metal slides across your nice waxed surface. Yhe main reason we wax is to coat the clear or color with a film to keep water spots from burning my paint when the sun comes back out. Acid rain also will bleach out paint. Most colors these days have a enough UV light protection. I doubt that water from car washed can put enough surface protection to amount to much. Nouthing beats a good paste wax shine. Pebbles Rocks and other projectiles chip off paint and dent the surfaces of cars.Does anyone know if putting wax protect ants at a car wash on your windshield is a good idea?
I think the wax product works sort of like rainx on your windshields.

Always worked for me.Makes seeing a little better. It helps the water to bead up and roll off.
Wax protect ants at a car wash..........hmmm, I'd have thought giving them umbrellas would have been better..............

When you apply hair wax in the morning after u come home u wash out how many hair strand does your hair fall?

btw im a boy a few day before i put hair wax on my hair then at night i wash out i saw many hair flowing to the drain like 20 to 30 hair strands is this normal when you apply wax to your hair? When you apply hair wax in the morning after u come home u wash out how many hair strand does your hair fall?
Hair wax wouldn't do anything like that to your hair unless it's got some sort of mutant chemical in it. Are you sure it isn't because of stress or something hormonal that your hair is falling out? It's normal for hair to fall out everyday but that just seems excessive. When you apply hair wax in the morning after u come home u wash out how many hair strand does your hair fall?
I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Hair wax tends to cause friction when you put it on or run your fingers through waxed hair, probably causing you to pull out some of the hairs. Either that, or maybe it's because your normal hair loss rate is occuring, yet it stays on your head because of the wax and comes off when you wash.

Either way, don't let yourself be bothered by it.
it is completely normal! you lose anywhere between 100-200 hairs a day...most of it is in the shower...hair product will just make it look like more are comming out because it was clummped together....its ok!

  • What is the best way to wash polish and wax rags?

idk. I'd suggest reading the label on the product and see what it recommends - if it's a hazmat try switching to greener products for polishing and waxing so the rags can be laundered. some of those chemical products on rags or clothing, can't be put in the washer/dryer. Place them in a basin with hot water, detergent and some non chlorine bleach (can be used on colors too without destroying the colors) and let soak for a couple of hours. Scrub well and they will come out nice and clean.

Before winter, do I wash, seal, then wax my car's paint?

I'm confused about how to take care of my car's finish. I have a car polish (Ice), but think I need to wash, use a sealant and then wax. Is this correct? Before winter, do I wash, seal, then wax my car's paint?
You need to wash it certainly, including under side sills [skirts] and under bumper front %26amp; rear valences. If you then use a good quality car wax, this will act as a sealant also. Any rain wil then just run off the waxed finish, rather than sit in pools on the top surfaces of the car. If you live in an area that experiences snowfalls, the wax will protect against this deteriorating the car's paint finish. If your car has any black mouldings [bumper inserts or door handles] use a proprietory black mouldings cleaner, this restores the original black finish and prevents fading. Good Luck!

Is it peroxide that you can put in your ear to clean out wax that can not be reached by a wash cloth?

When I was very young I was prone to ear infections. My dr. told my mom to put peroxide or something in it, then it would wash away a lot of built up wax.

I recently used q-tips in my ears for some reason, and I keep hearing a crackling sound in my ear. What do I do?Is it peroxide that you can put in your ear to clean out wax that can not be reached by a wash cloth?
Peroxide, is great to use in the ear, it will not hurt your ear.Is it peroxide that you can put in your ear to clean out wax that can not be reached by a wash cloth?
    hydrogen peroxide.
mix a little warm water with peroxide, if not you'll get a head ache from the cold hitting your ear drum. also if you have a oral syringe you can use that, that can help.
I have a blood clot in my ear and my doctor told me to keep putting baby oil in it until it comes out.So every morning and night,I put in some baby oil.It is starting to work.I tried the over the counter cleaner and the peroxide, neither helped.Try the baby oil so you won't hurt your ear drums.Good Luck.
One of our doctor's recommended moisten the end of a Q-Tip with your own saliva, then cleaning your ear with that. Saliva has strong anti-bacterial agents in it, and the Q-Tip will remove the wax.

  • How do you get candle wax off a pair of Jeans, I thought you were supposed to wash them in cold water?

washed them in cold water, but that left spotsHow do you get candle wax off a pair of Jeans, I thought you were supposed to wash them in cold water?
If you will place a brown PAPER bag on top of the waxy area and go over it a few times with a med warm iron..the wax will transfer to the brown bag!..also works if you have spilled it on carpet..How do you get candle wax off a pair of Jeans, I thought you were supposed to wash them in cold water?
Here's something to try, you'll need some sheets of looseleaf paper or some paper brown bags and and iron. Turn the iron on the medium. Take your jeans and place two sheets of looseleaf or a paper bag underneath the spot where the wax is and above it. Then take your iron and iron over the top sheet of paper. The wax should melt and then catch onto the paper. IF its a lot of wax, your going to have to replace the paper and repeat. I dont know exactly how the fact that you washed it in cold water will affect this method, but good luck.

P.S. if you just iron it with nothing to hold the melted wax, your going to ruin your ironing board AND you IRON
    Shout it out!
    You should have used Shout!!
scrape all the heavy wax off first...then place a towel over the spot and iron... change the towel location frequently...it will act as a sponge when you heat the wax with the iron
As with any candle wax problems, on carpet麓s clothes furniture , best way to deal with the problem is . Get a brown paper bag or the kind of brown paper you would use to wrap up parcel麓s to send by post.Lay the paper on top of the wax stain ,and with a warm to hot iron ,iron on top of the paper this will lift out the wax on to the paper , easy when you know how
you should have put ice on it and then scraped it with a knife. What you have now is the oils from the candle in the fabric. There may not be a happy ending to this one...If it is a well worn pair of jeans, try doubling the detergent and use a little bleach in the washwater
This just happen to me last week. I just laid the jeans out flat and then ftook a couple paper towels and put on top of where the wax was. Then took my iron, on a medium setting and laid it on top of the paper towel. As the wax heated up the paper towel just absorbed the wax. You have to move the paper towel around a few times as your doing this because the paper towel absorbs so quickly.
Just iron on high on the WRONG side.

Ok, ok...no one irons a pair of jeans but just do what i told u just this once :-)
Easy beans ,, Using a hot iron ,, place a paper towel over the wax, than the hot iron. The iron will melt the wax and the paper towel will absorb the liquid wax. If you got a dark color wax on the jeans, good luck. The color may stain the fabric , than I'm lost.

What is the best way to wash car wax off of a car?

Use Dawn dishwashing soap for this purpose only: taking off wax. Any other time, wash with car wash soap. Dawn is too harsh.

Don't listen to those who recommend rubbing compound. It will leave your paint dull (it will remove scratches). Use a milder polish since any polish will remove wax and is a great pre-wax treatment and will really add gloss to the paint. Try Meguiar's ColorX or S100 Shine Enhancing Cleanser (found at Harley Dvidson dealers). What is the best way to wash car wax off of a car?
Are you talking the whole set in wax coat that has already been applied and removed? If so then just use a soap and water mixture of dawn dish detergent and wipe down the car.

If you're talking missed/left over wax that was never removed after a waxing the car and is white and crusty, just get a micro-fiber cloth and some detailing spray (meguiers or mothers) and wipe it off. If that doesn't do it you'll need to use a clay barWhat is the best way to wash car wax off of a car?

DON'T use gas......Be careful using other chemicals....you could end up removing the paint........Good luck.
use a light rubbing compound found at any auto store
These commerical car washes will take It off faster than anything I know of, Just wash a few times and it will be gone, But I am wondering why you want to take tit off?, You need good wax job.

What is the difference between polish and wax? Do i wax or polish my car when i first wash it?

which will mantain the shine of the paint? What is the difference between polish and wax? Do i wax or polish my car when i first wash it?
Polish is what you do...Wax is what you use to do it.What is the difference between polish and wax? Do i wax or polish my car when i first wash it?
Complete auto care requires more than washing. Automotive paint can incur daily damage from airborne contaminants, dirt, and acid rain. Clear coats are not as tough as you might think. To really protect your paint, you need a premium car wax or paint sealant. If damage has already occurred, a quality polish may be able to reverse some of the damage and renew the finish

Wax is a protectant and make things reflective.

Polish has mild abrasives that actualy remove some of the surface being polished.
Generally speaking polish is used to clean up dull paint, remove stubborn stains and generally speaking bring a shine back to your cars finish. Waxing is done to preserve that shine in other words once you get your car nicely shined up just apply some wax to keep it looking its best.
the word ';WAX'; like some others is a general term. People refer to Past Wax as WAX and Liquid as Polish. I consider Liquid as the best.
Polish it first it cleans it and remove inperfion in paint. Wax will protext it

im assuming the nanowax is a spray wax?

and the ice polish, is actually a wax

i personally use it, after i use meguiars nxt 2.0 tech wax, i think it gives it more of a wet look

i guess theres two ways you could really do it

    either

    1. wash

    2. ice

    3. gold

    4. ice

    5. spray

    or

    1. wash

    2. gold

    3. ice

    4. spray

and the nanowax spray, is just a spray wax

thats just for keeping the car having the 'just waxed' look

so after you get your detailed, then next time you wash it, you just spray it on

and only apply/wipe off these products with microfiber towels, or the foam ones, like the ice comes included withBest way to wash/wax/polish my beast (car)?
darts a lotta wax/ wash car drip dry/put on liquid polish sparingly and use a buffer machine spreading the polish/ do small sections cleaning buffer pad with special buffer cleaner tool/ start on deck lid first until you get the hang of the wheel touch up with a little liquid polish in non buffered areas/ do not get on plastic parts and mouldings/ dry towel all areas/use amoral on all plastic non painted areas. thats as good as it gets// all the other stuff is bull-pappy because of new types of paint w/clearcoat the surface is too hard for all the omigod waxes to find a grip this process will do it all on a relatively clean car/ about 4hrs-get going/or get a friend to do it

No. Just make sure you dont use any abrasive cleaners or waxes. I wash my Malibu about the same and the paint is still perfect, and its a 1997!Is it bad for the paint to wash and wax your car weekly?
    Hi,

Please use non abrasvie wax.Unless other wise needed (salt rain, dustly weather) there is no need to wash car weekly. But wipe the car with a damp cloth which will take away the dirt and wipe with a soft dry cloth which will give a shine.

Ver frequent washing may affect the paint. It may lead to any rust formation in under carriage area or any area where water find a place to stand. Is it bad for the paint to wash and wax your car weekly?
No. But it is a waste of money unless you live near the Great Lakes or in one of the coastal states where it rains and salt air is a problem. Up here in the Northwest I wash my rigs once a month ';weather'; it needs it or not.
you dont need to wax every week .just use a detailing spray like meguiars nxt generation. it will give you the same results as waxing .

How often should I wash my porsche? How long after I wax it do I have to wait to wash it again?

I would wash it by hand using water, what type of soap do u recommend if any at all? I use microfiber towels. Also how often should I wax it? I use carnauba wax. Right now i wash once a week or if it gets really dirty, and I wax once a monthHow often should I wash my porsche? How long after I wax it do I have to wait to wash it again?
still wash it once a week and I don't use any soap at all, just plain water and a wash mitt, if you wax the car 2 or 3 times a year that is plenty and you can use MeGuiars detailing spray in between waxes to make it look like it has just been waxed. How often should I wash my porsche? How long after I wax it do I have to wait to wash it again?
you want to use a soap

soap helps make your wash mitt glide over the surface of the car

meguiars gold class soap will do

you can wash whenever you want

once a week or every other week is fine

    waxing, all depends

you will want to use a cleaner wax every once a while

so youre not just piling more wax on top of wax
Wash the car as often as it needs it. If it is dirty, then it needs to be washed. Grit and such on the surface of the vehicle can cause swirls on the surface. A good car wash soap will not strip waxes or sealants.

A good quality carnauba wax will last 4-6 weeks before it will need to be reapplied. if the car is dark, this time period is lessened due to the hotter surface temps of the surface of the car (remember your basic High School science?).

If you use a cloth to dry the car, use microfiber.

If you buff the wax with a cloth, use microfiber.

A paint sealant will actually last longer than the wax.

    Sealants last 3-6 months.

If your Porsche is relatively new, it will have a ceramic clearcoat....this means it is extra hard. So, if you have swirls to address, you will need a polish designed for harder clear coats...like Menzerna or possibly the new Meguiars M105 and M 205 combo.

Nothing on the label about being harmful if swallowed or anyting. About 1/2 of the gallon sized bottle is now gone, but much of it had soaked into the dirt. My dog was nowhere near the bottle when I found it, but there are clear teeth punctures. My dog just got into some liquid car wash soap/wax. Not sure how much he may have eaten. Should I be worried
Call the Animal Poison Hotline immediatly - have the bottle ready so you can read the label to them! here is the number -

1-888-232-8870 -- there is a fee but IT IS WORTH IT-- everyone who owns pets should post this number...do not induce vomiting or any other treatment before calling them! Different poisons need different treatments! My dog just got into some liquid car wash soap/wax. Not sure how much he may have eaten. Should I be worried
Just relax. See how he reacts to it. If he begins to show signs of discomfort, call the vet. To save yourself an office visit though, maybe call a 24 hour vet clinic to consult with a tech. Don't panic though....most likely he will just start feeling sick and throw back up whatever he drank. Try and estimate how much actually just fell on the ground.
well if it has a poison control number then call it if they cant help call a vet and he may have to run a few test to check for poison or other harmful liquid's just to be safe i know i am very protective about my pets and if that had happend i would be very worried like you
Call the poison control or the company who makes the soap. If it dosn't say toxic on the bottle, it probably isn't but you need to call some where to be sure.
Have the container with you as you go to the EMERGENCY VET. They will have to call the Poison Control Hotline to get the antidote and treatment. They can read the ingredients and help your dog quickly.
Call the vet -possibly try and induce vomiting -you can't be sure.... Vomiting can be induced by giving the dog a few tablespoons of hydrogen pyroxide.
Call your vet definately but also just keep an eye on how your dog is acting my vet told me to pour peroxide down my dogs throat when he got into some tomatoes( which are poisonous) to make them throw up!

Anybody ever used car washing detergent to wash a house or wax?

Yes, many times. I live in Florida where you need to pressure was a couple of times a year. Tried all the store cleaners till someone told me to use a solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water and add a couple of ounces of car wash liquid. Works great. You may need to adjust the bleach up to a 50/50 solution but the car wash will stay the same. Never heard of using the wax on it. But it's worth a try.Anybody ever used car washing detergent to wash a house or wax?
It works great, that way you can use a preasure washer to clean the whole house! Good Luck!Anybody ever used car washing detergent to wash a house or wax?
I do this all the time and use Zipp Wash and Wax.

Its great on all siding and plastic and fiberglass.

It will also help with the sun and water with the wax bead.

At all auto stores and stores in the auto section.

Get the gallon for $5.00 well worth it. Also works great in the container on the pressure washer.

If I consistently use a touchless car wash is it safe to wax my car afterwards?

I don't always have time to hand wash my car and I don't want to waste water. If I consistently use a touchless car wash is it safe to wax my car afterwards?
What you need to be careful of is the stuff that doesn't come off by a touchless wash. Tar, bonded contaminants and sap might come off onto your wax applicator pad and get rubbed into the paint causing swirls. The proper thing to do is to clay before waxing for this reason. If I consistently use a touchless car wash is it safe to wax my car afterwards?
It really depends - if you want to just put a protectant layer on and be done with it, yes, its fine.

If you want to ensure that your paint's surface is properly conditioned AND protected, and you want your paint to last, you should really go a few extra yards between the car wash and the wax.

You should thoroughly go over the car and use a proper car-wash liquid and soft cotton towel/cloth to get all of the surface contaminants off. Then, you should use a pre-wax to get the embedded stuff off and remove the prior surface treatments. Then, you should wax.

If you do this at least once, the next couple of times you'll be good with just a regular wash-and-wax in between the car-spa treatment.
Probably. Here's the best way to make sure you're ok to wax-once you are home and it's dry, check the car for left on dirt. You can buy a detailing spray like Meguiar's Quik detailer to remove any dirt, a California car duster for dust (from driving home, like light road dust) and maybe some bug and tar remover for harder to remove things like tar. There's a five step process for a really great shine/finish here http://www.squidoo.com/showcardetailing that will help with all the prep before waxing. You'd be surprised how much dirt you ccan get on your car when you drive, even on what appears to be a clean dry road, so be sure to at least use the car duster then the detailer to clean it up before you wax, even if you don't want to follow the whole process.
its okay to wax your car afterward but It will leave micro scratches in your paint. wash it by hand first with a good soap and micro fiber towel and lots of water. that will get most of the bits of dirt off that the touch less car wash misses. then wax it after you hand wash it.
you can pretty much wax your car anytime you want cleaner the better so after washing it best time to do it and a good wax wil last months buy a dust mop to dust it it between times you wax or wash
As long as it's well-rinsed, there shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure it's well-rinsed.
    i dont see why not

How do you remove car wash wax film off the windshield?

Just use Windex or something similar or alcohol on a rag. you don't need lacquer thinnerHow do you remove car wash wax film off the windshield?
When I was a gm dealer service technician, customers would complain about the windshield wipers chattering and streaking. The gm approved solution was to clean the windshield with Bon Ami cleaning powder. It might be hard to find, so I have myself used a household cleaning product called Bar Keepers Friend. Wet the windshield down and sprinkle some bar keepers friend on the windshield. Use a clean cloth and scrub the windshield. You may have to add some water to the cloth to keep the cleanser moist. Fully rinse off with clean filtered water, then use a good glass cleaner with ammonia. How do you remove car wash wax film off the windshield?
if you want your windshield clear from debri, wet the windshield down and use either 3 or 4 ott steel wool. we used it alot when i worked at a detail shop. it wont scratch your glass and it will clean all the wax, bugs and dirt off your window and leave it chrystal clear.
Dawn dishwashing liquid will remove wax from the windshield, just put a little on a damp sponge and wipe and rinse well. But be careful, it will take the wax of the paint if you get any on it.
The best glass cleaner Ive found is called Invisable Glass made by Stoner Its not exspensive %26amp; it works GREAT
laquer thinner works great just avoid getting it on your paint .
I hear soap works well to clean things.

  • How to wash off hair wax?

Hi. I use hair wax in the morning, everyday. I know it is bad to go to bed with hair products in your hair. How should I wash it off? with shampoo or just rinsing it with water?

I am a man and I would appreciate answers/ advice for men.

Thank you!How to wash off hair wax?
Get your hair thoroughly wet first with very warm water, then work in shampoo and let it set for a minute. Rinse and repeat. Shampooing twice should get it all out. If getting the wax out on a daily basis makes your hair dry out, you may need to do a hot oil treatment once or twice a week. :)How to wash off hair wax?
Dish soap will do much better than shampoo if you have completely coated your hair in wax.... Friends of mine who had dread locks and wanted them out could only manage with dish soap !
Usually wax is harsh and you'll need to shampoo to get it all out, use hot water.

Looking for Wax and Wash Product for my Car?

I am looking for the best product that both waxes and washes your car and then you can just dry it off. There are so many products out there and I am looking for the best one. From your experience what do you recommend and at what store can I find it ?

ThanksLooking for Wax and Wash Product for my Car?
No wash product will do a good job waxing your car. Hand waxing after hand washing is the only way. I like Meguires wax, and any car wash soap(don't use dish soap, it removes wax). If your paint doesn't feel glass smooth, use Meguires clay bar, then wax. A good wax job lasts a few months, so just do it!Looking for Wax and Wash Product for my Car?

When should i wash and wax my car?

i just bought it last december 20 but now its kinda dusty and rain marks all over.. my family said its not a good idea to wash/wax it already cuz its brandnew it'll just make the paint fade faster...i have meguiars nxt tech wash and wax...so when should i wash it?When should i wash and wax my car?
you need to get it washed and a good coat of wax on it yesterday, tell your family they don't know what there talking about, you can wax a brand new car the day you get it as the paint is already cured and ready to go before that car even leaves the assembly line.

GM assembly 36 yrs. When should i wash and wax my car?
Whenever it is warm enough to do it. Not really necessary to do a wax since it is new. A wash and a wax will not make your paint fade faster.
    When it needs it.

When is the best day to wash / wax your car during hot Summer?

and I do not have car garage or shaded area in my drive way... :-(When is the best day to wash / wax your car during hot Summer?
you have to find a shaded area somewhere, don't do it in direct sunlight or else you will get swirl marks and waterspots. same for waxing the car. Also don't use dishwashing liquid to wash the car, you'll strip all the wax off and your paint will be unprotected. Auto parts stores sell car wash soap in a bottle you can buy. When is the best day to wash / wax your car during hot Summer?
Early in the morning or after 4pm in the evening. Check the weather, you don't want rain to ruin your wash and wax on the same day, you want to get a few rain-free days with your newly cleaned car!
On a day when its not raining...

Meguiar's has excellent products as does Mother's --also Mr Clean has a car wash system that needs no drying of the car after washing..it uses a filter in the spray head to filter the water of impurities and is called the Autodry system....pretty nice feature. I want one.

    http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.j鈥?/a>
Mother's, Meguier's, Turtle Wax, Blue Coral.... all make great kits like you are looking for. Some can be a little pricey when you have all the goodies in there (rags, polishers, wash, wax, dusters, caddy to carry everything, detail brushes, etc)

Do a little looking around, for all will work great on your standard automobile.
    Don't get him that.

    It's like getting cologne.

And if your husband is a car nut, he won't want just any car wax.

Yeah what those guys said ';Mothers'; is pretty good.
Turtle Wax products are good. I've used them for many years.
    Meguiar's or Mother's products...work great.

Spray WD 40 on to a piece of cloth and wipe over the affected area.My car has had a wash/wax trestment. Need to REMOVE the wax from the black trim of the car!!!?
You can either use WD40 spray on a cloth or sometimes I use a silicone based 'bumper black' product, again with a cloth. Hope this helps! My car has had a wash/wax trestment. Need to REMOVE the wax from the black trim of the car!!!?
In the old days before many of you were born we used to use black shoe polish and that always did the job and gave a nice shine as well
It's easy... take two soft chammies in your hands.

    With the left, Wax On

    With the right, Wax Off.

Not only will you get the wax off to a gleaming shine, but you will become a Karate champion.

Or, take it back to the car wash and demand a refund.
Its simple! But id does depend on if it is inside the car or outside.

If its inside somehow, use any half decent back to black spray containing silicone.

If its outside on you bumper for instance... white vinigar. Works a bloody wonder.

I do it all the time, so it is safe.

Hope this is what your looking for

I wouldn't think these are wax spots, more like calcium deposits. My old car would get soaked by the neighbors sprinklers everyday. Over time the water dropplets formed calcium deposits on the glass that looked like water dropplets, only they could not easily be removed.

To remove the calcium deposits we used some soap that came in an orange container that had little pieces of sand in it. Go to Wal-Mart, near the car section they have this soap to clean grease and stuff.

Anyway, if this is simply wax. A rag and some WD-40 will do the trick. This combination is excellent for removing sticker gunk too!

I use the turtle wax ice product line it's awsome easy on and off no no white powdery residue to worry about on rubber and some plastics it is easy to use apply waite 15 minutes and wipe off with a fiber towel and buff great shine
Any wax brand will do, just make sure you wax at least every 3months...
    Mother's or Maguire's
Meguire's or Mothers are best. The new Ice line from Mequires is good. Zymol is good as well, but a bit more pricey. Think about getting a clay bar kit (this removes contaminants from the paint surface) and treating your car to the clay bar first, wash and a good wax. The clay kit has instructions on how to use it, or you can use the new Ice Liquid Clay Bar but I wash with normal car wash after I use it. Make sure you wax after the clay bar. Not just any brand of car wax will do.....your pony deserves the best...Meguires or Mothers. You can take out any fine scratches with some finishing compound from Turtle wax also.

  • What is the best Car wash? WAX?

I have a black nissan rogueWhat is the best Car wash? WAX?
I happen to be a fan of Meguiar's. The provided link will custom match which car wash and wax is perfect for your vehicle.

    http://www.meguiars.com/rx/rx_main.cfm

    Also...

http://www.meguiars.com/howtocenter/What is the best Car wash? WAX?
Most car wash liquids are fine. Just never use dish soap.

The key to avoiding swirl marks is in the type of cloth you are using to scrub and dry.

Never use a terry cloth or anything cotton to wash or dry your car. Also, always try to avoid automatic car washes that are not 'touchless' and never use the brush in a manual carwash. You will have scratches and swirl marks, galore.

I do car detailing on the side, and here is what I do to really clean your car up and make it look brand new.

First, you will want to purchase the following:

    1) Absorber or Chamois (to dry your car). ($5-$8)

    2) 4 Micro-fiber applicators ($4)

    3) 8 Micro-fiber towels (not terry-cloths) ($5)

    4) Meguiars Clay bar kit ($14)

    5) Meguiar's Car Polish ($7)

    6) Meguiar's Carnuba Wax, Tech wax, or Gold Class wax ($7-$14)

It sounds expensive, but this should last you at least a year.

Step 1 - After washing your car manually (I just use the pre-soak, high power soap, and rinse power sprayer for an extended period of time), use the absorber to dry immediately.

Don't worry too much about water marks if you are going to wax.

Step 2 - In a shaded area, use the clay bar kit and follow directions on the box.

Step 3 - wash and dry car again to get any excess clay or detailing spray off of vehicle. (step 1)

Step 4 - Again, in a shaded area make sure your paint is cool and apply car polish in a circular motion with micro-fiber applicator on all paint. Try to avoid plasic or rubber, as it will stain these areas if not wiped off immediately.

Step 5 - Use Micro-fiber cloth to wipe off polish.

Step 6 - Repeat steps for and 5, except using the Wax instead of the car polish.

The Car polish will bring out the deepness in your color. The wax protects the clearcoat.

It might seem like a lot of work, but if you do this 2 times a year (I do it once after winter and once before winter), and wash your car once a week, it will almost always look nice.

For the interior, you can get anything from Armour All to Meguiars interior protection. Just use a micro-fiber applicator and you should not have to worry about scratching the plastic.
I like the Mr. Clean automatic drying car wash system. It has a drying agent that eliminates the need for toweling the water off of your car. I don't necessarily think that it eliminates the need for a bucket and sponge though.

As far as the best wax, NuFinish is the best.

Look at the site below to find more information about products that remove/reduce the appearance of scratches on the seats. As far as getting gunk off of the seats or vinyl interior, Mr. Clean Magic Erasers (or generic equivalent) work very well, just wear gloves when you use them to scrub because they are abrasive to your skin.

Try some SYSTEM ONE Polish. This works very well on headlights.

It dries too quickly and you'll have a shi*** job. Not when hot either.

    ';The paint seems soft';?

What in H*** does that mean? Do nothing if that's true. See the dealer.????????????????????????????????
It's not a good idea to wash your car in the sunlight during the day. The problem is that the soap can dry onto the paint during the time, and dull the paint color. I would either do it out of the direct sunlight, under a covered area or in the morning or evening.
Don't wash in sun try to find some shade when you dry it off , your polish will do a better job for you , lots if work.hope this helps.

I would wash it once a week under normal weather conditions.Polish and wax it once a month usually does the trick.Polish1st,wax 2nd.Invest in a buffer or two.Saves a lot of time and sweat.
There's really no magic formula. Just whenever you think it needs it. Like after a mud run :-) I take my car in for a professional wash about six times a year and the paint is still in great shape.
depends on your daily travels, more travel, more dirt. but generally twice per week or maybe every 4th day

My friend used hair wax in my hair and i've washed it with shampo about 4 times and I still can't get it out! What can I use to get it out of my hair? How do I wash Hair Wax out of my hair???
mix a couple of teaspons of baking soda with your shampoo... baking soda can be used weekly to help clarify hair and get rid of build up.How do I wash Hair Wax out of my hair???
one time my cousin got some sticky stuff in her hair and used baby oil and it worked. i'm not sure if it will work with hair wax, but you can try.
Try a clarifying shampoo. Leave it in for a while and then rinse. It should do the trick!
put conditner in ur hair, NO shampoo, then brush out the conditner with the biggest brush with the clostest bristles. then wash out the rest of the conditner.
Clarifying shampoo followed by detangling conditioner. You may be using the wrong shampoo. You need a clarifier, like something you would use for oily hair, or hair with buildup.

Clarifiers get rid of every enemy of hairdos: product, oils, clorine and salt water, etc. They can be used periodically--say, once a week or so.
try mayo it might work also vinager
I found that the best way to get rid of build up is (don't laugh) is asprin!!! take 2 or 3 tablets of asprin in the palm of ur hand, add a little water till they disolve add some of ur shampoo to this and wash your hair. It realy works.
Use shampoo, rinse, and repeat (a lot)!

just to wash $10, $15 to wash and vac, $18 to wipe down the interior, an even $20 to do all and to wax it depends on what kind of wax you use will you be using an electric polisher or by hand either way it should be about $45-$60 you have to compete with other people so charge less than them. i used to have a mobile detailin business

How long after applying touchup paint to my car should I wait to wash and wax?

1989 Porsche. How long after applying touchup paint to my car should I wait to wash and wax?
wait at least a month. just because it,s dry does,nt mean it,s set to the metal. How long after applying touchup paint to my car should I wait to wash and wax?
atleast a couple of days because may only be dry on surface and if you do decide to wash it dont pressure wash it i had touch up paint on my civic and it tore it right of just dont apply direct pressure when washing
If it's just a tony spot and you are using touchup paint from the local parts store don't worry about it. If you are doing a larger are with actual automotive paint wait 1-3 months depending on your environment.
Give it several weeks. It may be dry, just on the surface.%26lt;}:-})

What is the best way to wash and wax your truck? It is a black Ford Ranger and it's looking dull?

I just bought this 13 year old truck from a friend and it';s a good truck, but the paint looks dull and has a bit of a white residue on the paint. I think first i need to get a good car wash and then?????What is the best way to wash and wax your truck? It is a black Ford Ranger and it's looking dull?
Your truck paint has oxidation. Go to a professional detailer and they will buff off the oxidation and your truck's paint will look new.

Oxidation is only in the clear (the top coat of the paint) and will easily be removed.

    Hope this helps.

How long are you supposed to wait to Wash or Wax a car after it's been painted?

I just got a new paint job on my 99 Firebird; but how long before can I wash n wax it?How long are you supposed to wait to Wash or Wax a car after it's been painted?
Wash, after a week to 10 days, and dont wax for about a month.

The paint has to cure. How long are you supposed to wait to Wash or Wax a car after it's been painted?
Really depends on the color.. White about 3 months and Black 8 months. The darker the color and the longer it takes to set and dry... Depends on the paint... too...

You can wash with car soap--nothing else. Waxing takes time...
The place that you had your car painted at should have told u... I would wait at least a week...
Ask the professional who painted it, they will give you the best answer.
About 1 week . I had my new hood painted.
It takes a while to cure even after it's dry. Ask the detailer where you got it painted.

How long do I have to wait after my car gets painted to wash/wax it

I picked up my car from the paint place today and forgot to ask themHow long do I have to wait after my car gets painted to wash/wax it
It is customary to wait about 4-6 weeks. Refrain from washing it for at least 4, and then don't wax it until about 6 weeks. It takes about 30 days for car paint to fully cure, and if you wash it or wax it before then, you risk pulling the paint right off the car, or chipping/scratching it.How long do I have to wait after my car gets painted to wash/wax it
30 day's is a good answer but if this is a legit body shop your car should have already had buff and wax before you got it back. It should shine like a brand new penny. If it is dull and has what they call orange peal, You got a bad paint job.
i would wait 2 weeks. did they bake the paint or air dry? you can still just rinse with water only
2 weeks for wash 30 days for wax.

  • How much would you be prepared to pay for a car wash and/wax?

What would be an acceptable price? How much would you be prepared to pay for a car wash and/wax?
$75 to $100.How much would you be prepared to pay for a car wash and/wax?
    Depends greatly on the type and age of the car, and your location. I recently had a full wash/buff/wax job done on a big black 6-yr-old car and it cost $80. To just have a wash and wax should be less than $40. Also consider that not all detail shops offer a vehicle pick-up service (they came and got my car from work, then picked me up later). %26lt;%26lt;note that I am talking about a professional detail shop where they manually wash and wax your car--not a drive-through scratch-em-up automated job%26gt;%26gt;
    Around $10

Can one wash and wax a car with stick-on racing stripes?

I have a yellow 2003 Mustang and would like to save money by getting stick-on black racing stripes instead of paying $500+ for real painted ones, but I worry that I won't be able to wash or wax the car without them peeling off. Is this a problem for cars with stick-on stripes? Can one wash and wax a car with stick-on racing stripes?

I washed my car with Blue Coral wash and wax and it left a film on the car windows. How do I get that off?

The wax you add to the water when you wash your car has left a film on the windows. What will take that film off?I washed my car with Blue Coral wash and wax and it left a film on the car windows. How do I get that off?
If it's just a wax buildup from the wash any glass cleaner will do the trick.I washed my car with Blue Coral wash and wax and it left a film on the car windows. How do I get that off?
Lime Away is usually for calcium, rust, lime, and mold buildups, but I suppose it could work on this as well.

What kind of car wash soap/wax works good for high salt content softened water?

My water is like sea water. I've tried mr. clean products, but they don't work and what I'm left with is lines of salt on my car. A co-worker says that turtle wax spray on wax works good, but he doesn't have the salt water problem I have. The dishwasher works great with cascade and rinse agent, and I'm thinking there has to be something out there comparible to that for car wash products. Thanks for your help. What kind of car wash soap/wax works good for high salt content softened water?
Softlan smooth,we use it all the time...What kind of car wash soap/wax works good for high salt content softened water?
I think this can be similar to dish soap and can fade your paint over time. Report Abuse

What should I expect to pay for a pre-winter wash/wax for a Dodge Charger?

I would charge between $75 - $100 depending on the condition of the car and exactly what kind of wax you would want (basic or sealant). You may be able to find someone who would do it for $25. It's hard to pinpoint a price but you get what you pay for. Will it need buffing? Will you want the interior done as well? It may be cheaper in the long run to get a package deal and get it detailed bumper to bumper, inside and out for $150 - $200.What should I expect to pay for a pre-winter wash/wax for a Dodge Charger?
just get some wax and do it yourself . a bottle of wax is 5 bucks and it lasts a long time tooWhat should I expect to pay for a pre-winter wash/wax for a Dodge Charger?
    If it's a 70R/T I'll do it for free!
i would think thats like a detail....i think for a good wax job 100 is reasonable

How do you wash and wax your car?

What brand of product works best for you? Also, how do you apply wax on your car?How do you wash and wax your car?
this is how I do it........ I buy mostly Meguiars brand (or turtle wax :P) ..... I buy specific car soap..... get a bucket, put some of the car soap in it, fill it with water so it's nice and bubbly..... I ALWAYS buy a brand new soft, spongy thing to wash it.......

here's a link to Meguiars car soap (I use deep crystal)

    http://www.meguiars.com/estore/product_l鈥?/a>

I can usually find it at Walmart or Target.........

I spray down my car with the hose, get it all wet first, then use the sponge (CLEAN, NEW sponge!) to soap up and scrub the car ..... especiallly where it's SUPER dirty....... make sure you scrub the rims too!

After I scrub down the whole car I'll rinse it off with the hose.... sometiems when I'm trying to REALLY get it clean and it takes me awhile to scrub one side I'll rinse that side off first before I go on to scrub another side........

Then I apply wax..... I use Meguiars.... here's the link

    http://www.meguiars.com/estore/product_l鈥?/a>

I use The NXT Tech Wax....... Apply it in swirls, and make sure you're looking from every angle to make sure you've applied it to the whole car..... if you miss a spot just go through and swirl that spot....... USE A CLEAN, NEW SOFT TOWEL to buff the wax off once it's dry (wait until the wax is white and dry).............. swirl the towel with a little pressure to take the wax off..... you may need a few towels to do the whole car........... once you have all the wax off it's a good idea to take ANOTHER clean, dry soft towel and BUFF like crazy to make it REALLY shiny!!!!!!!

ALSO, if your car has been SORT of taken care of when it comes to washes, conisder CLAY BARRING it........ Mothers Clay Bar kit is great........ you wash the car.... then clay bar, then wax it......... I did that to my car after I'd owned it for 2 years (it was brand new when I bought it) and people asked me if I'd just gotten the car repainted because it looked so shiny..........

Clay barring takes out all the microscopic road dirt that is embedded in the paint that makes paint look dull.... the kit comes with everything you need..... a special spray and the hunk of clay (yes, literally clay)..... you spray a small section of the car, then rub the clay in circles until the clay moves around REALLY smoothly...... (when you first start swirling it it may sound sort of gritty or like sandpaperish because of all the crap in the paint, once it starts to pick up that crap then it's just SMOOOOOTHHH)........ once the clay moves around smoothly take a clean dry towel and wipe off the spray..... it is definitely time consuming! But it's so worth it to make you car look like it JUST came off the assembly line and is brand new!!!! You ALWAYS have to wax right after that! It protects the paint! How do you wash and wax your car?
For my own cars, when temperature is 55 to 75, I first rinse off with water, then with two caps of car wash soap added to a bucket of water, I use a SHIWALA hand held washer head (sold by Shiwala 22 N Plains Industrial Rd Wallingford, CT 06494) to wash the vehicle, and follow up with a water rinse. I lightly use a shami to dry and follow up with Turtle Wax ICE. This has worked with no hardship and many a praise since May 1996.
auto wash for me mostly. but some times i hand wash it with power washer, brush and dryign towel. for wax i would use miguiers(spelling??) you put a little on, rub it in and rub out the excess. every see karate kid? wax on, wax off. you use 2 towels. some waxes now are made so you dont have to wipe off. and some come in a spray bottle for easyer dispensing. also if you choose to use a buffing wheel, be careful. it can very easily ruin your paint if you dont knwo what your doing. good luck.

edit:you could do what kaitia said. lots of work but great reward. thumbs up kaitia!!
