I use the do it yourself car wash and always spray my car down with wax just before I rinse it off for the final time and my car always beads up water when it's wet and my windshield is always like rain-X when it rains, hardly need to turn the wipers on most of the time. The advantage is you always have protection on your paint through the winter when you can't get a good coat of hand wax on your car and the cost is only the price of the car wash which is a grand total of $3.50 for wash, wax, and rinse.
